Chiesa del Cristo, Brindisi

But there are many interesting monuments in Brindisi besides those that are part of the Appian Way.

Roman Pillars of Brindisi

Of the two pillars, only one is still standing.

Capital of the Roman Pillar of Brindisi

Classified by UNESCO are the Brindisi Columns, believed to mark the end of the Appian Way. This capital is no longer in its original location.

Brindisi Cathedral

The city of Brindisi is fantastic, but only a few monuments are classified by UNESCO as part of the Appian Way. The cathedral is not one of them.

Brindisi

I wanted to go to Brindisi to buy postcards of the Appian Way, but it wasn't easy to find them.

Castello Aragonese, Otranto

We only saw the castle from the outside, but it's monumental!

Otranto Cathedral

We visited the cathedral, decorated with magnificent mosaics, which also has a chapel containing the bones of Otranto citizens slaughtered and beheaded by the Ottomans.
